Visible veins: what do they mean?

They suddenly appear on your hands, forming a discreet blue network… or clearly visible. And you wonder: is this normal? Is it a sign of something more serious? Before you sound the alarm, let’s take a look at these famous blue veins together.
Visible blue veins: when it’s completely normal
You may have noticed that your hands have bluish veins, especially after exercise or at the end of the day. The good news is that in many cases,  this can be caused by natural causes .
  1. Your skin color plays a key role
Light or very thin skin naturally allows veins to be more visible. So don’t worry if you’re pale or have  particularly thin skin  : it simply makes the venous system more visible.
  1. A question of finesse (of skin)
With age or a very slim figure, the subcutaneous fat layer thins. As a result, veins, which were previously discreet, become more visible. This is common, especially among older people or those with  low body fat .
